Nikhat Bano, the wife of MLA Abbas Ansari, who is on police remand in Chitrakoot district, broke down on Sunday with a barrage of questions. Mainly he evaded the question of conspiring to get the MLA out of jail, threatening him with murder and extortion and giving money and gifts to the jail officials.
The police team took some strict action on this. Nikhat became very emotional on these sharp questions and started saying with folded hands in front of the investigation team that she was not a part of any such conspiracy. She used to come only to meet her husband. She has a one year old child and had taken him to meet her father once or twice.
On February 10, contrary to the rules, the district police arrested wife Nikhat Bano and her driver who had come to meet husband MLA Abbas in the district jail. After this, on the order of 72 hours remand of the Lucknow court, Nikhat has been taken on Friday afternoon at around 3 pm and Niyaz has been taken on police remand for five days.
