Lucknow: Case Filed Against CRPF Commandant for Disproportionate Assets, CBI Raids in Four Cities

The CBI’s Anti-Corruption Branch has registered a case of amassing disproportionate assets against Neeraj Kumar Pandey, commandant of CRPF’s 93rd Corps, Lucknow. Also, raided their hideouts located in four cities and collected all the important evidence.

On the complaint of the Chief Vigilance Officer of CRPF, the Anti Corruption Branch of CBI, Lucknow was probing the allegations against Neeraj Kumar for the last eight months. On finding the allegations true in the investigation, a case was registered on March 16, after which CBI teams on Saturday searched their five locations located in Lucknow, Delhi, Noida and Mirzapur. The raids on their hideouts continued till late night.

On June 9, 2022, IG Vitul Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer of CRPF Headquarters, complained to the CBI Director against Neeraj Kumar Pandey for acquiring disproportionate assets. The CBI director had entrusted the investigation of the matter to the Anti-Corruption Branch of Lucknow.

Investigation revealed that between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2022, Neeraj Kumar Pandey acquired movable and immovable properties worth Rs 1.44 crore in his name and that of his family members. At the same time, he and his family spent Rs 9.37 crore on different items during this period. While during this period, the total income of Neeraj Kumar Pandey and his family members from all legal sources was found to be Rs 5.20 crore.
