Anti-social elements vandalized the idols of the Shiva family in the ancient Bholenath temple in Gokulpur village of Vijaygarh police station area of Aligarh on Sunday night. There is resentment among the villagers. The police reached the spot and quickly got a new idol installed. In this regard, the villagers have given a complaint against unknown people.
The idols of Shani Dev and Nandi Baba kept in the Mahadev temple were vandalized late on Sunday evening by some chaotic elements. When the villagers reached the temple, seeing the broken idol there, a crowd of villagers gathered there. The information was given to the police. Police reached the spot.
CO Barla Sarjana Singh also reached the spot and pacified the villagers by convincing them. He assured that those who damaged the idols would not be spared. Police Station President Jitendra Kumar Singh said that the broken statue has been replaced by another one. Those who vandalized the idol are being identified.
